Eight Alabama players were recognized by the coaching staff for their outstanding performances following Saturday’s win over Florida Atlantic. Amari Cooper, Jalston Fowler, and Christion Jones were honorees on offense, while Eddie Jackson and Jonathan Allen represented the defense. Adam Griffith, Cyrus Jones, and Kenyan Drake made the special teams list.

The offense piled up 620 total yards in the 41-0 weather-shortened victory. Cooper, who now leads the country in receptions and receiving yards, caught 13 passes for 189 yards, scored on a 52-yard catch and run, and added 20 yards on a rush on the first play of the game. He tied the school record for receptions in a game and has now gone over the century mark in four straight. Fowler was again credited for his outstanding blocking from the fullback position and added a three-yard touchdown reception that put the Crimson Tide up 31-0 in the second quarter. Christion Jones caught two passes for 52 yards and had a key block on Cooper’s touchdown.

The defense held FAU to just 145 total yards and nine first downs. Jackson returned to the starting lineup at cornerback and made an immediate impact with four tackles, one tackle for loss, and a forced fumble. Allen added two tackles and also had one behind the line of scrimmage.

Griffith connected on both of his field goal attempts and is now six-for-six on the season. He made kicks from 22 and 28 yards, and also had two touchbacks on eight kickoffs. Cyrus Jones had a big play on special teams with a 70-yard punt return while also totaling three tackles with a forced fumble from his cornerback position. Drake had another stop inside the 20 on kickoff coverage. He was the leading rusher with 45 yards on seven carries and scored on a 39-yard reception.
