Alabama knows a thing or two about wide receiver recruiting. Despite losing Holmon Wiggins on Tuesday to Texas A&M, the Crimson Tide are still in a strong position for wide receivers.

One Crimson Tide commit has already started piling up on accolades and awards. Ryan Williams was the 2022 Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year when he caught 87 passes for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for 709 yards and another 15 touchdowns. Williams led the Saraland Spartans to a 14-1 record and Saraland's first Class 6A State championship win.

That was Williams as a sophomore. Williams has also won 2023 Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year. This past season, he caught 71 passes for 1,320 yards and 19 touchdowns, leading the Spartans (13-1) to the Class 6A state championship game. Williams rushed for 269 yards and seven scores, threw a touchdown pass, and returned both a punt and kickoff for TDs.

Williams's impressive performances landed him as the nation's No. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2025.

Crimson Tide fans won't have to wait that long though, as Williams has announced that he will reclassify to the class of 2024 and will sign his letter of intent on February 9, his birthday.

Williams is committed to the Crimson Tide and reportedly has a great relationship with head coach Nick Saban and Crimson Tide secondary coach Travaris Robinson.

It's never ideal to lose a position coach a month before a high-profile recruit is set to sign, but Alabama is used to high roster turnover and it has not stopped the Crimson Tide before.

Williams is ranked as the No. 12 overall recruit according to Composite and the fourth wide receiver in the 2024 class.
