Bryce Young has broken Mac Jones's record for passing yards in a single season. Young entered the 86th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic needing 189 yards to break the 4,500-yard mark set by Jones in 2020. He broke the record with his third touchdown pass, a 9-yard pass to tight end Cameron Latu.

Earlier in the game, Young broke Tua Tagovailoa's single-season touchdown record by throwing his 44th touchdown pass of the 2021 season.

Against Arkansas, Young broke the single-game record for passing yards once held by Scott Hunter for over 50 years, throwing for 559 yards. He's the only Alabama quarterback to ever throw for more than 500 yards in a game. Alongside that game, Young threw for at least 300 yards in all but four games this season.

Young became the first quarterback in Alabama history to win the Heisman Trophy after leading the Crimson Tide to a clutch victory over the Auburn Tigers and walloping the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship.
