Danny Sheridan: Alabama Would Likely Be Favored Against Every Team in College Football

The Golden Nugget recently released point spreads for a couple hundred college football games in 2014. By the looks of the list, Alabama's streak of being favored in 54-straight contests will continue if the odds don't shift too much before the fall.

USA Today handicapper Danny Sheridan joined 'The Game' on Monday to dive a bit deeper into the point spreads. While the new odds are only set for scheduled games, Sheridan couldn't think of a team in the country that would be a favorite over the Crimson Tide this season.

"Right off the top of my head, I'd say probably not, especially if (Jacob) Coker works out," Sheridan told host Ryan Fowler. "Florida State would be a close line, (maybe) Oregon, but I'd favor Alabama in preseason. That's the big difference. When the season starts, it might be a different case."

Defending champion Florida State is the favorite to win the first College Football Playoff, and Sheridan thinks that game could slightly lean towards Alabama in the point spread.

"Florida State might be pick-em or maybe Alabama a slight favorite, either way," Sheridan said.

The Crimson Tide needs to be favored in its first five games (West Virginia, Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, Florida, Ole Miss) to break the all-time record of 58 consecutive games as a favorite.
