Alabama redshirt freshman forward Alex Tchikou has entered the transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. Tchikou appeared in three games, playing a total of six minutes during the 2021-22 season for the Crimson Tide.
Juwan Gary came out of Friday night's game with a right ankle injury and wasn't able to return, but head coach Nate Oats gave an update on the status of his injury Monday during his press conference prior to the Tide's third game of the season.
According to the Alabama Athletic Department, highly rated incoming freshman Alex Tchikou has torn his Achilles tendon and will miss the 2020-21 season. Tchikou, a 6-foot-11 forward reclassified into the 2020 class to begin his college career a year earlier. He underwent surgery on Wednesday and is expected to make a full recovery.

Alabama first offered Tchikou back in January, but were unsure about their chances of landing the big time prospect. Things started to turn in the Tide's favor on Friday, after a majority of the 24/7 Sports Crystal Ball experts, predicted he'd commit to Alabama.
