Big 10 Football

According to Dan Patrick and the Detroit Free Press, the Big 10 has voted to cancel its 2020 football season. The conference voted 12-2 to cancel this season, the only dissenting universities who voted to play were Iowa and Nebraska.

There will be no fans in Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania this year for Penn State this year, according to Brett McMurphy of Watchstadium.com. Beaver Stadium has a capacity of 106,000 and is known for a raucous atmosphere.

This morning the news continued for the Power 5 conference, with some good and bad. The Big Ten released their schedule, but shortly after, The Players Tribune posted an article with 1,000 Big Ten players demanding change for the upcoming season.

On Thursday, it was announced that the formerly named “Belk Bowl” will be rebranding as the “Duke’s Mayonnaise Bowl.” The bowl game, which is played in Charlotte, North Carolina has historically featured conference tie-ins for both the ACC and the SEC but now will feature the Big Ten conference, which will swap out with the SEC every other year.

There's been mixed feelings, from what I've seen. That's understandable. But, we should still cheer on Taulia Tagovailoa as he heads north on his own path.
