For four years now, the UAB Blazers football team will be honoring Children’s Harbor in their homecoming game by wearing their names patients at the charity instead of their own names.
Although the players underwent numerous COVID-19 tests prior to the game there was a concern that when two teams clashed on the field there might be a spread of undetected coronavirus, halting the progress of the 2020 football season. College football got more good news as the Central Arkansas players and staff have undergone two COVID-19 tests after the game and have all come back negative.

UAB head football coach Bill Clark joined Wimp and Barry Sanderson on Inside the Locker Room to discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected his program and how the Blazers will handle preparations for the 2020 season.
Former Alabama basketball player and assistant coach Philip Pearson joins Andy Kennedy as an assistant coach for the UAB Blazers. Pearson played at Alabama from 1989 from 1994 for Wimp Sanderson and David Hobbs. He earned the Paul Bryant Student-Athlete of the Year during his time at the Capstone and helped the Tide win back-to-back SEC Tournament Championships.
