Alabama head coach Nate Oats has recently been paying close attention to the transfer portal as college basketball off-season recruiting is now in full swing.

North Texas, point guard Tylor Perry, is a 3-point scoring machine who has recently entered the transfer portal as a graduate season. Oats was immediately drawn to his scoring capabilities and has set up a time for Perry to visit Alabama's campus next week.

Standing at just 5-foot-11, Perry averaged 17 points per game for the NIT Champion Mean Green with a 3-point shooting percentage of over 41 percent the past two seasons. He also won the 2023 Conference USA Player of the year by averaging 17 points, two assists, and three rebounds.

Perry has narrowed down his potential landing spots to eight schools which included Alabama, Arkansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Florida, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech. Perry has already taken a visit to Florida last week, and is visiting Arkansas on Friday.

Alabama still has a hand full of roster spots to fill as six players have already declared for the 2023 NBA draft. Perry coming to The Capstone could help soften the blow of multiple players leaving while also helping the Crimson Tide reload for the 2023 season.
