20 Alabama Student-Athletes Slated for Summer Commencement Saturday
A total of 20 Crimson Tide student-athletes are slated to receive 22 degrees during The University of Alabama’s summer commencement this weekend, including six who have earned graduate degrees.
NCAA champion, All-American and Academic All-American Pavel Romanov (men’s swimming and diving) leads the charge, having earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree simultaneously though UA’s University Scholars Program.
Former Crimson Tide rower Brittany Starliper is also set to receive a pair of degrees this weekend. She accomplished the rare feat of obtaining both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Business at the same time.
Others receiving master’s degrees this weekend include All-American and Academic All-American Sydney Littlejohn (softball) as well as Bola Olaniyan (men’s basketball), Jacob Kelsoe (men’s swimming and diving) and Canella Tinker (rowing).
All-Americans Diamond Gause (women’s track and field), Hannah Musser (women’s swimming and diving) and Antibahs Kosgei (men’s track and field/cross country) are set for graduation with their bachelor’s degrees.
Five members of the Tide football squad will earn bachelor’s degrees, including J.C. Hassenauer, Derek Kief, Vohn Keith, Jr., Ross Pierschbacher and Levi Wallace. Alabama will have 12 players on this year’s football roster who have already earned degrees, which ranks third nationally.
Szymmy Day (men’s swimming and diving), Emily Zapinki (women’s swimming and diving), Hannah Waggoner (women’s track and field/cross country), Mia Landegren (women’s golf), Emily Stebbins (volleyball) and Tyler Adams (baseball) will all receive bachelor’s degrees as well.
