For the last 19 years, I have been entertaining Tuscaloosa and west Alabama with my commentary on headlines surrounding The University of Alabama and the Southeastern Conference, as well as, major stories in the sports world. My 1st year in radio was when Mike Dubose was coaching at Alabama. I have been fortunate to interview many of the Alabama football legends who enhance the rich history of the university. Joe Namath, Earl Campbell, AJ McCarron, Lee Roy Jordan, John Hannah, Barrett Jones, Archie Manning and many other legends of college football hang out to share their stories and we feature many of them weekly. My show airs during the afternoon drive from 2-6pm on Tide 100.9/102.9, we also have a strong following on the streaming options which are available on Tide1029.com, Tide 102.9 app, and several listening devices offer Tide 100.9/102.9 as an option. One thing that separates my show from the other great shows that air on Tide 102.9/100.9 is that we are a caller friendly show and take a lot of phone calls during the 4 hour show. I enjoy engaging listeners who will call and share their opinion or analysis on the subject we are discussing that day. I treat the callers like they are my co-host for that short amount of time. Over 50% of the callers who call into my show are from outside of the Tuscaloosa area. We use several social networks to invite new listeners to the station and listen to my show. New technology and the Alabama’s success during the Nick Saban era has made the fan who lives outside of the area want a direct connection to Tuscaloosa. We provide that connection for them. I go to press conferences multiple times a week, attend practices frequently, and cover all of Alabama’s games, home or away. Living in Tuscaloosa provides our hosts an opportunity to develop a strong connection with what happens on Alabama’s campus and around our community. We do not pretend to be part of Tuscaloosa like some of our competition, we are Tuscaloosa and I love being part of this awesome community. I am excited about where sports talk is going. It’s booming around the country and this format is being asked to play a major role in keeping FM relevant during the current time. I am also excited to see the next wave of technology, how it will help us create a stronger connection with our listening audience and improve our ability to serve our community. I am just so blessed to be able to cover one of the greatest dynasties in sports and arguably the greatest coach in college football history. That is my opinion and one day I will be able to share many stories on how Nick Saban created the best dynasty in the history of sports. Overall, I just love being in radio, I am blessed to have the best job in the country, to cover the team I grew up pulling for and have an opportunity to witness Alabama win 5 National titles in the last 10 years and provide a service to the most passionate fans in the country. Outside of radio, I live in Coker, AL with my wife, daughter and beautiful blue Weimaraner named Samson, my dog gets plenty of plugs during my show. Some of my hobbies include watching sports in person, visiting other SEC Stadiums, deer hunting, hiking, small home remodeling projects, working in the yard, and gardening. Yes gardening! I just enjoy spending time outside and exploring what the state of Alabama has to offer. My wife and I also enjoy traveling, my favorite way to travel is via cruise ship, which forces us to shut down and get the batteries fully charged before football season starts. My favorite sports teams are the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Dallas Cowboys. There is nothing more important in my life than my daily walk with Jesus Christ. I mention my Christian faith often during my show.
