5 Great Summer Beers to Try at ‘America on Tap’
America On Tap Beer Festival is taking over Government Plaza Saturday so we thought we'd take a look at a few of our favorite summer beers to be featured!
Tickets are still available for 'America on Tap' by clicking here.
We looked at all of the beers coming to this weekend's festival and came up with a list of refreshing summer brews that still have enough flavor to keep the attention of the average IPA/Porter/Stout drinker.

The aroma is typical of most lagers as you pick up the smell of yeast, grains and a little citrus love. Although not as hoppy as some of the Sierra Nevada collection, Summerfest does have a mild floral hop finish. This is the kind of beer that I'd pair with a summer day cookout.

I know, your mind wants to stick to lighter wheats and pilsners during the summer but Kona Brewing Company has created a balanced, well-rounded IPA that features citrus notes and slight hop aftertaste. Maybe it's the fact that Castaway is brewed in Hawaii or maybe it's the label art, but I always pick up a tropical grapefruit aroma before each sip!

To put it simply, Curious Traveller tastes like a mix of lemonade and beer. But let me clarify, way more beer than lemonade! Perfect summertime, hanging at the beach, by the pool, partying all day kinda beer. Nice lemon taste, lightly sweet, goes down smooth, isn't too strong.
- Harpoon Brewery/Instagram

UFO is brewed with orange peel and a unique blend of spices that makes it a crisp, refreshing beer from start to finish. In the past, Harpoon has added raspberry, pumpkin, grapefruit and other flavors to the traditional UFO White, although the original is just fine solo! It's a good, year round Belgian Style ale but you may also consider taking it poolside this summer.

Red Brick Brewing out of Atlanta has come up with a light Belgian witbier that uses hibiscus and spices. Don't worry, it doesn't taste like you're drinking a flower! Instead you get a floral, wheat malt aroma that includes citrus hops and coriander. Nice and smooth and easily paired with a hot summer day!
