Alabama Baseball Bats in Eighth Best Recruiting Class
Alabama Baseball has been quietly working this offseason. And things are certainly looking up for the program after a heartbreaking loss to end the previous season.
After bowing out in the opening regional of the NCAA Tournament, Brad Bohannon is working on rebuilding his roster. Names like Sam Praytor, Dylan Smith, Chase Lee, Peyton Wilson, and Tyler Ras have moved onto The Show. However, Bohannon has showed no signs of making last year's season a one hit wonder.
Baseball America has given the Tide's recruiting class stellar marks. According to a press release from the Alabama Athletic Department, they are currently ranked number 8 in the nation for recruiting. This is not the Tide's best rank however.
In 2012, Alabama Baseball had their best ranking, placing 4th in their recruiting efforts. Even with this ranking being the second best in program history, Bohannon continues to impress in his ability to bring new players to Sewell-Thomas.
In 3 of the last 4 seasons with Bohannon at the helm, he has inked a top 15 class. 2018 and 2019 saw him grab the number 15 spot. The class itself features 19 players.
12 players new to the Crimson Tide are high schools signees, while 7 of the players hoping to step onto the diamond are transfers from junior colleges. The players are compromised of various skill positions as well.
The Tide added 13 pitchers, 3 catchers, 2 infielders, and 1 outfielder. With so many fresh faces, it will be only a matter of time before the Tide takes to diamond again, with the hope of improving on their 32-26 record last year.
