The Alabama football team held its second practice in preparation for the BCS National Championship Game. The Crimson Tide trained for two hours in full pads for the first time since returning to the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

“Coach has a very specific system of how to handle long layoffs, and it’s always been very effective,” senior center Barrett Jones said. “As usual, we’re going back to the basics. We’re focusing on us this week and really not working a whole lot on our opponent.”

Alabama will practice three more days before taking time off for the Christmas holiday. The Crimson Tide will resume work for top-ranked Notre Dame on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
