The No. 24-ranked Alabama men’s basketball team came up short for the first time at home this season against UCF, 65-62, Sunday afternoon. Senior Donta Hall turned in a perfect performance from the field, shooting 9-of-9 from the floor to score a career-high 20 points.

Freshman Collin Sexton hit two free throws to tie the game at 62-62 with 54 seconds remaining. However, the Knights (5-3) capitalized on two Alabama miscues, adding three more points to outlast the Crimson Tide (6-2).

UCF edged Alabama on both side of the floor, shooting 48.1 percent from the field compared to the Tide’s 43.1 percent, and outrebounded UA 37-28.

In addition to Hall, freshman John Petty reached double digits for the fifth time this season, scoring 12 points in the game.

Alabama will return to action on Wednesday night to host Rhode Island at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on SEC Network plus.
