Alabama's 2021 recruiting class is starting to take shape as Christian Leary announces his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Twitter tonight. Leary is a four-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the 23rd wide receiver in the 2021 class, the 20th overall prospect in the state of Florida and the 130th overall prospect in the nation. Leary becomes the eighth member to commit to the Crimson Tide in the 2021 cycle and bumps Alabama up to the 22nd overall class according to 247Sports.

The 5-foot-9 receiver out of Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida joins fellow four-star receivers out of Florida Agiye Hall and Jacory Brooks to commit to the Crimson Tide. The three receivers along with five-star JC Latham make up the sum of Alabama's offensive commitments so far.

Leary chooses the Tide over Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia, Florida and many others as he has a total of 43 scholarship offers according to 247Sports. Special teams coach Jeff Banks and wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins were the primary recruiters for the Crimson Tide.

As a junior in 2019, Leary rushed the ball for 528 yards and eight touchdowns and hauled in 46 receptions for 1,036 yards and another eight touchdowns. He clocked a 4.56 40-yard dash time at The Opening Regional Camp in February of 2019 and is already slotted to compete in next year's Under Armour All-America Game.

Leary was offered a scholarship by Alabama in March of 2020 and he decided to commit to Coach Saban and the Tide this evening.

Alabama boasted a strong wide receiver class in the 2020 cycle but will likely lose both DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle to the NFL Draft next spring and has lost Tyrell Shavers and Chadarius Townsend to the transfer portal this spring.
