Eryk Anders will be competing again soon, but it won't be in an MMA fight.

The former Crimson Tide linebacker and national champ is set to compete in Philadelphia on August 27 at FURY Professional Grappling. The match is going to be contested at 205 pounds, up a weight class for both combatants involved- Anders will face The Ultimate Fighter middleweight alum Andre Petroski. Both men normally compete at 185 pounds, with Anders taking the occasional sojourn to light heavyweight.

Anders has lost his last two fights in a row. He most recently fought in the Octagon at 185 pounds in May and lost a controversial decision to Jun Yong Park.  In December of  2021, he was submitted by grappling ace Andre Muniz in a short-notice affair at UFC 269. He aims to fight again before the end of the year.

Petroski is 3-0 in the UFC since his August 2021 debut. He choked out Nick Maximov in May in his most recent outing. All of his promotional wins have been finishes. He was a semifinalist on The Ultimate Fighter's 29th season and believes his wrestling skills are among the best in the middleweight division.

The lack of an extreme weight cut is sure to be beneficial to both competitors. Anders and Petroski have a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Anders has competed at 205 pounds in the UFC, whereas Petroski has not. Petroski is competing in home-team territory as he is part of the Gracie fight team in Philly. To date, no one in their current stable has lost a UFC bout.

The grapplers are set to clash in the co-main event of Fury Grappling 5 and it will be available to watch on UFC Fight Pass.
