Army National Guard Veteran Chais Billings Reunites with Family at Alabama Baseball Game
Army National Guard veteran Chais Billings reunited with his family this afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium during first pitch ceremonies prior to the Crimson Tide’s matchup with seventh-ranked Florida.
Billings, a Tuscaloosa native, returned home this weekend from his volunteer deployment with the 1670th Transportation Company at Camp Buehring Kuwait, where the unit served from August 2016 to May of 2017. While deployed, Chris received the Army Commendation Medal, Hero of the Week, Hellfighter of the Week and three coins for his work as a medic with the unit. He joined the Alabama Army National Guard in 2014 and became a medic in 2015 at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. Billings, who was hired at Tuscaloosa Fire/Rescue in 2004, also serves as a member of the dive team and technical rescue team for Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service.
The veteran was reunited with his immediate family, including his wife Amanda (Davis), and his two children, Keira (9) and Noah (5), along with his brother-in-law, Kayln Davis, and Kayln’s father, Jeff Davis.
