The highlight of National Signing Day for the Crimson Tide came when 5-star linebacker Rashaan Evans picked Alabama over Auburn on national television.

Throughout the recruiting process, many fans of both schools felt that Evans would stay at home and play for the Tigers. After all, he attends Auburn High School and his father played football under Pat Dye. But on Wednesday afternoon, the state's best linebacker decided he would wear crimson instead of orange.

The reaction to his announcement sent shock waves through the state and on Twitter, where comments covered the spectrum of emotions. The feeling in Auburn was one of defeat. A camera posted in the war room shows a few of the coaches watching the announcement on television and the subsequent response of disappointment.
