Alabama wide receiver commit Jacorey Brooks received a fifth-star today by 247Sports. The 6-foot-3 receiver out of Booker T. Washington High School in Miami was elevated to the second overall wide receiver in the 2021 class and moved up to the 27th overall prospect in the nation. Brooks moved up one spot in the receiver rankings and 11 spots overall.

Brooks becomes the the second five-star prospect in the Crimson Tide recruiting class as JC Latham committed to Alabama last Friday. The prospect's increased rating raises the Alabama average prospect rating to 94.435.

Alabama has three receivers committed in the 2021 cycle, with Christian Leary committing to the Tide this week. All three high schoolers are out of the state of Florida.

Brooks has already won a state title for Booker T. Washington and posted a junior year with 99 receptions, 1,281 yards and 18 touchdowns. He committed to the Crimson Tide on May 8 and is likely looking forward to playing with Bryce Young when he comes to Tuscaloosa.

He chose Alabama over Florida, Miami, LSU and many others. Charles Huff and Holmon Wiggins served as his primary recruiters for the Crimson Tide.

Brooks will join the long line of wide receivers to join the Crimson Tide out of the Miami area of Florida. The Tide has been successful recruiting that area  with Amari Cooper (2012-14), Calvin Ridley (2015-17), Jerry Jeudy (2017-19), Xavier Williams (2018-present) and Thaiu Jones-Bell (2020-present) all coming to Tuscaloosa from that part of Florida.
