Tuesday Alabama football center Ryan Kelly was named one of 44 members of the Remington award watch list, but in February one Remington winner was already singing his praises.

When Barret Jones left the University of Alabama, he did so as one of the Crimson Tide's great leaders and one of the most decorated Offensive Lineman in school history.

A four-year starter and member of 3 national championship teams at the university, Jones also collected numerous individual awards including the Outland Trophy as the nation's top lineman as a junior and the Remington Trophy as the top center during his senior campaign.

In February, Jones joined The Game with Ryan Fowler and mentioned that Ryan Kelly, his replacement had a chance to be even better.

"We have a lot of really good young guys, starting with Ryan Kelly who will probably be playing center this year, most likely. He's a great young player-probably 2-3 times better than I ever was at Center" Jones said.

The 2013 Remington Trophy Spring Watch List includes 17 returning players from the 2012 Watch List. The SEC leads the way with nine players while the PAC-12 and the Mountain West Conference check in with five players each.

Last season Kelly played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman earning SEC All-Freshman honors.
