Brian Robinson Ready To Leave It on the Line in Championship Game
The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide is seeking its 19th national championship as the Tide is set to take on the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs in Indianapolis. While the game is special for every player involved, for one Tuscaloosa-native the game will be especially meaningful.
Hillcrest High School alum Brian Robinson Jr. has been the Alabama offense's unsung hero in 2021. He's led the Tide in rushing in 2021 with 1,268 yards and 14 touchdowns while complimenting Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Bryce Young.
This will be the fourth national championship game that Robinson has experienced but this game has special significance as it will be the final game in an Alabama uniform for the super senior.
"My mentality is just I want to lay it all on the line for my team, for my school, with this being my last time suiting up for Alabama, I just want to leave no doubt that this university is like truly in my heart, and I love it. And I'll do anything to see us come out on top one more last time before I have to leave," said Robinson.
In the Cotton Bowl he carried the Crimson Tide as he rushed for 204 yards on his way to earning Offensive MVP.
He's no stranger to playing the Georgia defense as he contributed to the 2020 regular season victory and the 2021 SEC Championship five weeks ago. In two contests he's rushed 23 times for 75 yards while taking two passes for 16 yards.
Robinson was far less than 100% entering the SEC Championship Game causing many to wonder how much larger his impact can be on the 2022 National Championship Game.
