Capstone Report with DC: Graduate Transfers and Alabama’s DBs
In the aftermath of the rumblings of Alabama lineman Brandon Kennedy’s potential transfer, much of the conversation revolved around the issue of graduate transfers within the Southeastern Conference.
At this point last week, graduate transfers from an SEC school could go to another member school but had to sit out a year.
Prior to the close of the SEC’s Spring Meetings in Destin, the conference adjusted their transfer rules to allow graduate transfers to relocate to another league member without penalty.
To kick off the week, DC from Golden Shores Productions examined the impact that the new graduate transfer policy could have on Alabama and the conference in his weekly “Capstone Report” segment with Martin Houston on The Blitz.
He touched on various aspects of the issue including Saban’s statements from last week, Alabama’s recent history with graduate transfers including Maurice Smith and whether the Crimson Tide and Nick Saban could be winners with the recent graduate transfer policy changes.
“Some people will say, ‘Well, he lost.” But, I think ultimately he wins.” DC said.
DC and Martin Houston later shifted their attention to Alabama’s secondary for 2018 including the news of Josh Jobe becoming eligible for the upcoming season and their opinion of who could be the key contributors in the defensive backfield.
The Blitz kicks off the day each weekday from 6-7 AM on Tide 102.9/100.9 and the Tide 102.9 app.
