Tuscaloosa County High School faced off against Central for its season opener, looking to avenge its loss to the Falcons last season, which saw Central come back from a 21-point deficit to secure the win with a field goal in the final seconds of the game to give Central the 31-28 victory over their Wildcats.

County High got on the board first in this one, thanks to a tremendous catch by Dylan Carlisle, which led to a five-yard touchdown run by Chardarius Hutchins to make it a 7-0 game early in the first quarter.

This lead didn't last long, thanks to a scoop and score from Central’s lineman Marcus Muse after stripping it from County High’s quarterback and returning it 20 yards for a touchdown to make it a tied 7-7 ball game.

In the second quarter, Central forced County High to turn the ball over with the Falcons forcing two fumbles and one interception. The Falcons’ defense was relentless, and they also came away with a blocked punt. These turnovers allowed Central to pile on and take a commanding ten-point lead going into the second half after a 15-yard rushing touchdown by Falcons’ running back Anthony Dixon, and a 25-yard field goal by Central’s kicker Graham Wolfe to make the score 17-7 going into halftime.

The Second half was all Central, thanks to the Falcons’ talented Junior running back Tra’Von Hall, who scored two rushing touchdowns in the third quarter. One was a 15-yard rush, and one from inside the Falcons’ five-yard line, which put the Falcons in at a 31-13 advantage following County High’s first and only points of the second half, which came from the Wildcats’ quarterback, who had two rushing touchdowns in tonight’s game.

The Falcons’ defense added another score and had two more takeaways in the second half, with one of those going for six after Central’s Junior Safety Jaelon Bramlett recovered a fumble and returned it 65 yards to the endzone to put the Falcons up 45-13, which would remain the final score of the game.
