The 2021 Toyota NWBA Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball National Championship is coming to Tuscaloosa. It was originally scheduled for Wichita, but now it has been moved to T-Town. The tournament will start on March 10th and run through the 13th.

According to the NWBA, the University of Alabama men's and women's wheelchair basketball teams made program history when both captured the national titles in 2019. The women's team have won six national championships with three coming within the last five years. The men have won three national championship with the last one in 2019.

The women's wheelchair basketball team sits at 5-0 with fresh wins over UT-Arlington on  Jan. 21-22. The men's team sits with an overall 4-2 record and a 2-2 conference record. The men fell short a basket in both games to Auburn also on the 21-22.

The UA Adapted Athletic has announced a new, revised spring schedule, including the national championship tournament. Women's basketball will have a double header at UTA on Feb 5-6. The men will now face Auburn in a double header on Jan 29-30 at Auburn and another double header at UTA on Feb 12-13 in Arlington, TX.

Both teams will play in the Hollister Invitational on Feb 19-20 and the Bama by Distance Classic on Feb 26-27. The nationals will start 11 days after the tournaments. Alabama will get to defend their home court and try to capture both titles again.
