After a week three slip-up, Tuscaloosa Academy came into tonight riding a four-game winning streak, in large part due to star quarterback Mark Norris. Norris continued to play at an all-star level tonight. However, it wasn't enough to stop Coosa Christian's dominant run game tonight, as they ran away with the game late and finished on top 56-21.

The embattled Rush Propst took the field tonight as the head coach for Coosa, and while the legendary high school coach roamed the sidelines, his superstar running back roamed the field. Kylen Johnson, a four-star in the 2028 class, made his presence felt tonight. He piled up a touchdown for every star beside his name on recruiting sites everywhere, including a 55-yarder in the first half.

The game started with a punt from Coosa Christian and a turnover on downs from TA. What followed can be labeled as nothing other than an offensive masterclass from Coosa, firing off seven consecutive touchdown drives that started with the previously mentioned 55-yarder in the first quarter, and finished with Johnson's fourth score of the game from two yards out in the fourth. In between, fans were treated to an absolute shootout of a ballgame. Mark Norris threw an astonishing 45 passes, completing 27 of them, one of which resulted in a 25-yard touchdown pass to Mason Corder. After the game, I spoke with coach Propst about Norris. In his exact words, he described the junior as "an SEC quarterback." It's hard to find a better compliment than that. Despite his electric performance, Norris finished the game with two interceptions, including one in the endzone at the end of the first half that would've cut the lead to one score heading into the half. Instead, Coosa Christian was able to control the scoreboard and go to the locker room up 28-14.

His second pick came late in the third while trying to climb back into the game, but by that point, the Knights were relying on a miracle more than they were anything else.

Despite the loss, the Knights have already locked in a home playoff game in two weeks, regardless of the score of next week's game. Next week, they'll travel to Bayside Academy while looking to secure an 8-2 season as they get ready and gear up for what is hopefully another deep state playoff run.
