Deboer addressed the media following tonight’s win with “Proud of the guys today, staff and everyone just putting a good week of work in…could really feel it Tuesday morning.” He continued, “I thought it was a great practice, and I told the guys downstairs that was something that felt got us off to a pretty good start Wednesday.”

Deboer went on to say during his opening statement that he is “proud of the resiliency at times that we have, whether it’s week to week, even within a game, I think our focus was on the right thing all week long.

He emphasized that Alabama is undefeated at home stating, “that’s a big part to do with our fan base.” He highlighted the “energy in the stadium”. He praised the fans for their support throughout the season for the Crimson Tide.

Deboer was asked what his pitch would be of why this team deserves to be in the college football playoffs and he responded with, “Everyone’s aware of our schedule, I don’t know the exact stats, but I know we’ve beaten four top 25 teams throughout the year, and I don’t know how many if anyone has done that.” He continues, “when you talk about the schedule and what it is week to week, it’s just a grind and having to come back every week, really the only conference that has to do that is ours.”

Reporters asked Deboer about Jalen Milroe and his contributions to this team on and off the field. “We talked about resiliency for our team, I think that’s a good word to use for him it’s hard being the quarterback for any football team, it’s hard being the quarterback for a team in a program that expects to win every game…the balls in his hands a lot, right, we throw with him, he was about 70% or so 18 for 24 and obviously running the football…not just tonight, that’s a lot of what he brings to the table and he facilitates a lot of moving parts.”
