Eagles Still Dominate Without Hurts
The Philadelphia Eagles made a statement against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles were able to get it done without their franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts but went on to beat the Cowboys 41-7 in Philadelphia.
Veteran quarterback Kenny Pickett took over for Hurts, who was ruled out for this game with a concussion sustained in the first quarter of the Washington game last week. The Commanders pulled off a 36-33 win over the seemingly unstoppable Eagles.
Early in the game, Pickett rushed for a touchdown and connected with Devonta Smith downfield for another touchdown in the second quarter which gave the Eagles the lead over the Cowboys early on.
As the game was getting out of hand, Pickett was injured after a hit by Micah Parsons, prompting him to leave the game with the Eagles up 27-7 and there are questions about whether he would return.
Tanner McKee, the third-string quarterback is now forced to enter the game where he finds A.J Brown for his first NFL touchdown which put the score up 34-7. McKee continues to find the end-zone when he connects with Devonta Smith to put the score up 41-7.
Devonta Smith, a favorite target for Jalen Hurts, has 120 total yards, which leads the Philadelphia receiving corps this game, averaging 20 yards a catch with two touchdowns to end the game. The Eagle's next game is set for Sunday, January 5, 2025, against the New York Giants in Philidelphia. The Eagles are now 13-3 heading into week 18.
