As January 7th nears, and the Alabama Crimson Tide and Notre Dame Fighting Irish refine their skills on the practice field, anticipation builds.

However, it is not just the fans in South Bend, Ind and Tuscaloosa, Ala that are anxiously awaiting the showdown between two of the most prestigious programs in college football history as players from each school's past have been waiting for the final game of the college football season. The Game has been joined by former players that donned the golden helmets at Notre Dame, however, Thursday the show was joined by former Alabama Defensive back Don McNeal.

McNeal was a standout for Alabama. staring on the 1978 and 1979 championship teams under then head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. Thursday, McNeal recalled his experiences against Notre Dame while expressing his excitement he has for this year's game.

One of the players McNeal enjoys watching the most is a player that wears the same number (28) he did, Dee Milliner. The Crimson Tide legend said there are plenty of reasons why Milliner has found the success he has.

As he waits patiently for January 7th; McNeal asked to say just one more thing to the Alabama fans across the country.
