In years past Alabama has landed commitments from Arizona Western Community College, but now it is one of their former players who will be heading west as former running back Brent Calloway.

Depending on recruiting service, Calloway was considered a four or five star prospect out of Russellville High School with a chance to play either running back or linebacker in college. The highly touted prospect eventually settled into the H-Back role and worked himself into Alabama’s rotation on limited basis.

However, off the field issues always came back to haunt Calloway. His first year at the University of Alabama he was cited for marijuana possession followed by the fraudulent use of a credit/debit card in his second year eventually led to his dismissal from the Alabama Football program.

In a recent interview with J.R. Tidwell of the Franklin County Times Calloway accepted responsibility for what happened at Alabama, especially the incident which eventually led to his dismissal.

“I’m not going to put the blame on anyone. I’ll put the blame on myself, if anything, before I try to blame anybody else. I wasn’t directly involved in it, but there could have been better decision making on my part, so that’s where I feel I was still wrong, because I didn’t make the right decision at the right time.”

Calloway continued to mention that everything that happened that night is not a reflection on the Alabama program. For more Calloway’s future, you can read here.
