Former Alabama defensive end John Copeland, a member of Crimson Cover, Saturday mornings on 99.1 WDGM, added one more accomplishment to his list on Saturday morning.

The towering, 6-foot-4, 280lb defensive end book-ended the defensive line in the early 90's for Alabama, helping to lead the Tide to the 1992 national championship over the Miami Hurricanes and was then drafted into the National Football League with the 5th overall pick in the 1993 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He was an All-American in college and played in over 100 professional football games.

On Saturday Copeland, at 42 years old, posted the fastest time in the 5-7 year old boys division of the Tuscaloosa Kids Triathlon with a time of 8 minutes and 41 seconds. The participation was in effort to raise awareness for Alabama Credit Union's secret meals program. Below are some videos of his efforts.
