If you're a fan of Gander Mountain on McFarland, then you better buy up what you can, because their parent company has announced that they WILL be closing the Tuscaloosa store as part of a bankruptcy restructuring plan.

And the Tuscaloosa Gander Mountain isn't the only one. You can also expect The Gander Mountain Stores in Mobile, Montgomery, and Gadsden to be shut down. 32 stores in total nationwide, that have been deemed "underperforming", are all set to close according to Gander Mountain officials.

Gander Mountain issued a new release in which they stated, "Like many retailers, Gander Mountain experienced challenging traffic patterns and shifts in consumer demand resulting from increased direct-to-customer sales by key vendors and accelerated growth of e-commerce, Despite aggressive actions to improve the efficiency of the company's retail operations and support functions, the underlying financial impact from underperforming stores and unproductive, excess inventory hampered efforts to create a sustainable path forward."

Additional information in the news release revealed that the closing stores will begin shutting down in a few weeks, with no definite date as their official closing date. However, they do expect the affected stores to be closed by May 15th.

So, if you're an Outdoorsman or Outdoorswoman, you might want to head over there in the next few days and go through their marked down inventory!

Personally, I'm not surprised by this decision, because I never see any cars in their parking lot. And the cars that I do see parked in their lot, are usually people who are eating next door at Waffle House!
