Heading into the weekend, Alabama football has 14 commitments in the 2019 signing class including 12 four-star commits along with one five-star and one three-star commit according to 247 Sports.

In his weekly visit on The Blitz, BamaOnline.com recruiting reporter Hank South provided his progress report concerning the Crimson Tide’s 2019 recruiting class.

Last weekend, Alabama hosted their first high school camp of the summer with some important prospects coming to Tuscaloosa. Hank South offered his thoughts on two prospects that have visited the University of Alabama campus.

“I think the two biggest visitors we’ve seen on campus thus far this summer are Trey Sanders, the five-star running back, former Alabama commit and Nolan Smith the five-star defensive end who is committed to Georgia.” South said.

The BamaOnline.com recruiting reporter discussed the possibility of another member of the Sanders family joining the Crimson Tide.

Umstead Sanders is a linebacker out of Hinds Community college who has committed to Florida as walk-on. After describing Umstead Sanders’ visit to Tuscaloosa and his chances of changing his commitment to Alabama, South brought up the possibility of how a potential Umstead Sanders commitment could influence Trey Sanders to come to Alabama.

“If Alabama were to get Umstead Sanders, Trey Sanders’ older brother, I think that would put them in the driver’s seat to get Trey Sanders.” South said.

Later in his conversation with Martin Houston, the BamaOnline.com recruiting analyst highlighted the latest news relating to DeMarvin Leal, DJ Uiagalellei, Eric Gray and how Tua Tagovailoa’s heroics in the national title game has affected potential across the recruiting landscape.
