Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was not slated to be the starter in the 2020-2021 season. However, Jones would earn a spot coming out of the summer with his work ethic and tough play at the quarterback position. Jones would be named as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and lead his team to a 18th National Championship in Miami against Ohio State. Jones would finish his Alabama career by throwing for 56 touchdowns and over 6,000 yards passing, and won several offensive awards including the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award. Jones would participate in the 2021 NFL Draft and most experts believe him to be a top 5 pick this coming season.

While the past several seasons have bred great quarterback play, sophomore quarterback Bryce Young seems to be the next to take over behind the center position. While Alabama fans saw talent flashed throughout last season, it is clear that Young will look to continue the trend of great players at quarterback for the Crimson Tide.

Is Alabama a quarterback school? This season's success may be a strong answer to that question.
