The latest story making rounds on social media this week says Star Wars will be filming in Tuscaloosa for a future movie.

The headline plastered across Facebook says 'Next Star Wars Film to Be Shot Near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Hundreds of Extras Needed.' The prospect of becoming an extra in one of the great film series of all-time is an opportunity that would grab most people's attention.

But is it true?

Sadly, the answer is a resounding no. KPRK 6 News is the definition of 'fake news' and clearly states that on its own website. Here's an excerpt of the disclaimer:

KPRK6.com is a satirical and fantasy website. None of the articles on KPRK6.com should be considered true and are simply works of satire or fantasy meant for entertainment purposes.

While there have been some big films shot in the state of Alabama - such as this year's hit Get Out - the iconic Star Wars won't be shot here anytime soon.
