Alabama freshman guard Jaylen Forbes has entered the transfer portal according to Jeff Goodman. Forbes is the second Alabama freshman to decide to leave the program after the 2019-20 season, following Raymond Hawkins into the portal. Forbes was a four-star shooting guard out of high school according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of Florence, Mississippi played in 30 games this past season for the Crimson Tide, starting in one. He averaged 2.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and .5 assists, playing in 10.4 minutes per game. The freshman saw his role slowly increase through the year but even with the injuries was unable to carve out a sizeable role, he played in just one minute of the season finale loss to Missouri.

Forbes chose Alabama over Kansas State, UAB, Southern Miss and Murray State last spring.

Nate Oats signed the number 16 overall recruiting class today which included two guards and a small forward. Three players who would challenge Forbes for playing time in the 2020-21 season. His departure now allows for the potential return of one of the three players testing the NBA Draft process. The Tide now has 12 players on scholarship going into 2020.
