Justice Haynes Shows Out in A-Day Showcase
At A-Day on Saturday, Alabama football fans were eager to assess the progress of the Crimson Tide's quarterback room. However, it was freshman running back Justice Haynes who had a day in a very encouraging performance.
The Georgia native scored three touchdowns, one through the air and two on the ground. He recorded 10 carries for 24 yards and four receptions for 40 yards. Head coach Nick Saban, for one, was complimentary of his young tailback postgame.
"I think he's got a really bright future," Saban said, "and I think he will contribute to the team this year."
Alabama running backs are a storied group, with those wearing the No. 22 that Haynes took the field in on Saturday being among the best. Some of those names include the likes of Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and fan-favorite freak athlete Najee Harris and legendary Johnny Musso.
Haynes has played well all spring, and despite his youth, has immense playmaking ability, some of which he demonstrated on Saturday afternoon. That's why fans expect that he will be an impact player in the near and distant future.
The Crimson Tide is still a long way off from the fall season, which gets underway on Sept. 2. If A-Day is any indication, Justice Haynes has a bright future- just like Saban said- this season and beyond.
