Milo’s Sweetening Both Sides of Iron Bowl Rivalry
Alabama fans, y'all can relax and drink Milo's sweet tea again. The famous southern tea company signed Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore to his first NIL deal on Thursday afternoon. The announcement comes one day after Milo's signed rival Bo Nix to represent the tea company.
Milo's, based in Bessemer now has two prominent athletes from both sides of the Iron Bowl rivalry. Both Nix and Moore also were highly rated high school recruits in the Birmingham area. Nix played at 6A Pinson Valley High School and Moore competed at 7A Hewitt-Trussville High School.
In his freshman season in Tuscaloosa Moore earned a place on the Second Team All-SEC squad. In 11 games last year Moore tallied up 44 tackles, nine pass deflections, three interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery along with one touchdown. One of his three interceptions came in the Iron Bowl where he picked off his fellow Milo's spokesperson to ensure a Crimson Tide victory.
Moore was considered a 4-star prospect and ranked the No. 9 prospect in the state of Alabama and the No. 19 safety in the nation in the class of 2020 according to the 247Sports composite.
In addition to earning Second Team All-SEC he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. Moore has hit the ground running with the advent of new name image and likeness rules, he struck a deal with Milo's, debuted a logo for himself and joined Cameo.
Should Moore build off last season's success he should see many more endorsement deals in the future.
