Will The Rams Bring Home A Win

The Northside Rams are getting ready to start their traveling this week as they take on the Cordova High School Blue Devils. The Rams have three more away games in a row after playing the Blue Devils tonight.

Carson Smith, a linebacker for the Rams, allowed me to speak with him about how the team is doing since playing their first game of the season.
The Rams came out in the second half against West Blocton for an impressive comeback to win the game, but what may have changed to make such a comeback possible? Smith stated in his interview with me, "We came back with a lot of energy in the second half, and all those long hours running in the summer came in clutch during the fourth quarter." Football is a long game and tiring game, it takes the conditioning of your team to be able to last all four quarters and the Rams showed just that in the second half of the game.

Each week there is a standout player for each team and according to Smith, Austin Kightlinger is his pick for the player who made the most impact in the game last week. Kightlinger plays a few positions for the Rams, such as free safety, wide receiver, and running back. Smith gave a short answer of "he never let up" when speaking on Kightlinger.

Smith weighed in on how the team felt going into week two on the road against Cordova. "We are feeling pretty good, we are coming with more energy and we know what we needed to work on to get better." The Rams look to come out in the first half swinging to put the game away early. Northside plays three more away games after this week. Montevallo, Selma, and Shelby Co. are all on the road for the Rams.

There are many tough places to play but the hardest place to play for the Rams according to Carson Smith would be Montevallo, nonetheless, Smith reiterates the preparation that comes into each game and is confident that "Northside is going to do their thing"
