Alabama offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian was awarded the 25th annual Broyles Award today. The award is given to the nation's top assistant coach. Sarkisian was in charge of the high powered Crimson Tide offense that scored 49.7 points per game, despite losing four first-round draft picks this past offseason.

In the two seasons that Sarkisian has been in control of the offense the Tide has yet to score fewer than 35 points in a game. The 24-game streak is the longest streak in major-college football history. In 2020 his offensive unit featured three players that finished in the top five in Heisman Trophy voting. Additionally his offense boasts five players that were named as AP First Team All Americans, Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood and Landon Dickerson.

The Alabama offense has set records throughout the season with DeVonta Smith breaking the SEC receiving touchdown record and Najee Harris breaking the Alabama rushing yards and touchdowns record.

The Crimson Tide will take on Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff this Friday in the Rose Bowl giving Sarkisian another chance to show off his play-calling prowess. The Fighting Irish have only allowed 18.6 points per game therefore something will have to give in the Rose Bowl in Dallas.

Sarkisian becomes the third Crimson Tide assistant coach to win the award, following Kirby Smart in 2009 and Mike Locksley in 2018.
