If you thought having an away game this weekend meant a break in the crazy Tuscaloosa traffic, think again. Road work planned for Interstate 20/59 will close a portion of Skyland Boulevard as construction on the Skyland interchange bridge is conducted.

The portion of Skyland Boulevard that passes underneath the bridge will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday (October 5) night through 5 a.m. Monday (October 8) morning. ALDOT will be placing signs along Skyland to notify drivers of the closure.

Work will also continue on the 20/59 project this weekend, resulting in rolling roadblocks on the interstate. Crews will be setting girders for the additional lanes on 20/59 at night during the following schedule:

11 pm - 5 am Friday night to Saturday morning
8 pm - 5 am Saturday night to Sunday morning
8 pm - 5 am Sunday night to Monday morning

We will keep you updated with the latest traffic information from the Townsend Nissan Traffic Center throughout the weekend. You can keep up with the latest traffic reopts from Captain Ray when you follow him on Twitter: @BamaTraffic.
