The Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners saw their opening game of the 2016 Women’s College World Series suspended due to rain.

The two teams will resume play at 6 PM Friday evening on ESPN2. Oklahoma will come to bat in the bottom of the second inning with a 0-0 score.

Prior to the rain, Oklahoma’s Paige Parker mowed down the Crimson Tide batting order as she retired the Crimson Tide's first six batters. Alabama’s Alexis Osorio fanned two batters while giving up a walk in one scoreless inning.

In other WCWS games, Auburn and Georgia advanced to the winner’s bracket round as Georgia edged Florida State 5-4 while Auburn dismantled UCLA 10-3. In addition to Alabama vs. Oklahoma, LSU’s contest against Michigan was also postponed due to rain.
