After a difficult August/September schedule, the Crimson Tide begins an easier October schedule with a Homecoming game against Georgia State. In a game Alabama is favored by 55 points, there's not a ton to excited about when analyzing this matchup. The biggest story might whether the student section makes it past halftime.

Despite the expected lopsided outcome, the staff at Tide 99.1 will still put our predictions on paper so you can judge us after the game.

Alabama gets a chance to work on Alabama Saturday and get live game reps with little consequence of error. I doubt we put 60 points up but it might be hard but to. Alabama 54, Georgia State 10

Martin Houston (Host of Houston & Huber)

I know it is Homecoming and there should be excitement in the air, but first against the worst just doesn't do it for me. The Tide will not have the repeat of Colorado State. They will put Georgia States hope to rest quickly. Hopefully, this Saturday will allow us to see the much anticipated running of Henry and Tennpenny.  Alabama 56, Georgia State 6

Despite the lack of built-in motivation that comes from facing a winless opponent, Alabama will circle the wagons Saturday morning. With all of the distractions this week - from the suspension of Clinton-Dix, to homecoming, to an early kick - it would be easy to sleep walk through the matchup with Georgia State. However, I think the Tide will be sharp early, get the starters off the field, and play a lot of young players. Bama won't cover the Vegas lines, but the Tide will roll easily.

Ryan Fowler (Host of The Game)

From the opening bell to the final second, Georgia State will be dominated in every aspect of the game. Alabama 55, Georgia State 0

Chad Haynie (Producer of Houston & Huber and The Chris Stewart Show)

Georgia State is really bad. Alabama is really good. This game could get really ugly. Alabama 48, Georgia State 0.

Ryan McMunn (Producer of The Game)

This one shouldn't even be played, but we all know how Alabama likes to drag these kinds of games out longer than they should be. The defense was finally starting to gel, and then Ha Ha gets suspended. The offense still looks mediocre at best, and special teams still looks like the best phase of our game. If I was a betting man, I'm taking the under AND I'd take Georgia State to cover. However, this is Georgia State we're talking about. In a nutshell, we'll basically just out-athlete them this game. Alabama 41, Georgia State 7

Georgia State has lost its first four games to powerhouse programs Samford, Chattanooga, West Virginia, and Jacksonville State. This is a name-your-score type game where we'll get to see a lot of Blake Sims and hopefully some freshman running backs. Alabama rarely covers a spread this large but it all depends on whether they allow any points to the Panthers. I don't think they will. Alabama 59, Georgia State 0
