Three Things You Need to Know about Texas A&M

No. 22 Texas A&M makes their first road trip of the season as they face another stiff challenge against the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Aggies are 2-1 with blowout wins over Northwestern State and Louisiana-Monroe and a narrow 28-26 loss to Clemson.

Alabama leads the all-time series 8-2 and has racked up five consecutive victories over Texas A&M.

Kellen Mond's Emergence

Texas A&M's offense has gotten off to a hot start under Jimbo Fisher. The Aggies are averaging 44.3 points per game and 596.3 points per game thanks in part to the play of sophomore quarterback Kellen Mond.

As a freshman, the San Antonio native completed 51.5 percent of his passes for 1,375 yards with eight touchdowns and six interceptions.

This season, Mond has increased his completion percentage to 62.9 percent to go along with 824 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions.

Against Clemson, the Aggies signal caller threw for 430 yards with three touchdowns and set school records in the game with 333 passing yards including 206 in the fourth quarter.

Running Back Trayveon Williams

In addition to Mond's emergence at quarterback, running back Trayveon Williams is leading the way among Southeastern Conference running backs.

The junior running back is pacing the SEC with 399 rushing yards, averaging 6.8 yards per carry with four rushing scores on the season.

Williams already has posted two 100-yard rushing performances in 2018 including a 240 yard, three touchdown performance in the season opener against Northwestern State.

Beef Along the Line of Scrimmage

Alabama will face plenty of beef along the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball Saturday.

Texas A&M's offensive line weighs in at 313 pounds per offensive lineman while the defensive line comes in at 295 pounds per defensive lineman.

All five of the offensive lineman weigh at least 300 pounds with four of the five up front coming in at 315 pounds or more.

Defensively, the Aggies have three of their four defensive lineman weighing 300 pounds or more. Senior defensive tackle Daylon Mack leads the pack at 320 pounds.
