Nick Saban has lots of admirers throughout the nation. One in particular resides in his own athletic department, Alabama Head Basketball Coach Nate Oats. Oats frequently used Saban quotes on Twitter while he was at Buffalo and commented in his opening press conference how much he was looking forward to learning from the successful football coach.

Oats recently spoke about how he's shadowed Saban for a day to learn what his day-to-day life looks like. While he followed Saban, Oats must have taken a sneak peak at the football recruiting board. Today he offered a scholarship to four-star football recruit Terrion Arnold.

The 6-foot-2 safety out of John Paul II Catholic in Tallahassee, Florida already has a bevy of football scholarship offers including from Coach Saban and the Crimson Tide. Alabama offered him in November of 2019, he was able to attend Tuscaloosa for the Tide's Junior Day events in February prior to the NCAA's recruiting dead period. 247Sports ranks him the number two safety nationally and the 13th rated prospect in the 2021 class.

Arnold accumulated 103 tackles, one interception and one sack according to 247sports.com. He already has football offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn and others.

Florida, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss have offered Arnold basketball scholarships with each school giving him the chance to play both sports at the collegiate level.

Arnold is not yet in the 247Sports Basketball recruiting database but it is clear with the attention he's getting that he's a candidate to play hoops in college.

Perhaps Coach Oats is trying to do Coach Saban a favor by recruiting Arnold and fellow 2021 defensive back recruit Ga'Quincy McKinstry.
