Trump Returns To Tuscaloosa

Donald Trump, in the midst of election year has taken time from politics to enjoy this Saturday’s rivalry game.

Last time Trump came to Tuscaloosa he attended the Alabama against LSU game in 2019 where LSU finally won against the Crimson Tide for the first time in 8 years, breaking a 31-game win streak for Alabama. Many events transpired that day as a balloon of Trump was slashed during a protest of his arrival to T-Town, an action that made national news as a 32-year-old male was charged with felony first-degree criminal mischief.

During the introduction of Trump and his wife Melania in the first quarter of the 2019 rivalry, cheers erupted as he is displayed over the video screens. After the crowd died, many displeased fans could be heard booing, which the majority crowd responded with a “USA Chant”. This marked history as the first time a sitting president attended an Alabama game. This isn’t Trumps first Alabama vs Georgia game, he also attended the National Championship game in 2018.

Many are wondering what may happen this year as Trump makes his way back to Tuscaloosa. Visitors and Tuscaloosa natives should expect some slight traffic alterations, heavier security, and time changes for regular pre-game events.

When asked by reporters in a press conference Monday about Trumps return to Bryant Denny, Deboer Stated,

"I’m sure there’s gonna be a lot of celebrity type people here, people that want to come be a part of what’s happening on gameday," via AL.com. Deboer Added, "Everyone’s watching. It’ll be great to have everyone who wants to come watch be here.”

If you need to bring a bag, here are the guidelines:

• Bags that are CLEAR plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12", or 1-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
• Small clutch bags that are 4.5" x 6.5" or smaller with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.
• Exceptions will only be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by security personnel.
