Tuscaloosa Brewery Honors Arkansas Win Over Ole Miss with ‘Santa Bret’ Artwork
Alabama just won its 25th SEC Championship and is headed back to the College Football Playoff, but it's likely that none of that would have been possible without a miracle fourth down conversion by Arkansas. Now, Druid City Brewing in Tuscaloosa is honoring that season-changing play by Christmas artwork to their taproom that includes Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema as Santa Claus.
The brewery has made headlines with its chalk art drawings of Nick Saban as Napoleon and Les Miles posing as Michael Jackson on the cover of the Thriller album. This latest creation might be their finest work yet with the detail of Vaught-Hemingway stadium in the background and the spot-on Santa Bret.
If you don't remember the exact play we're talking about, here's the video from that November 7 game in Oxford. Facing 4th & 25, tight end Hunter Henry threw a lateral before being tackled that ended up in the hands of running back Alex Collins, and he managed to convert the first down.
That gave the Rebels their second SEC loss of the season and gave the Crimson Tide the ability to win out and make it back to Atlanta. Without that second loss, Ole Miss would have owned the tiebreaker over Alabama and appeared in the SEC Championship Game for the first time in school history.
