Alabama red shirt junior wide receiver, Tyrell Shavers, announced earlier today that he will be entering the transfer portal. AL.com's Matt Zenitz first reported the news on Twitter.

Shavers tweeted out that he will use the last two years of his collegiate eligibility at another school besides the University of Alabama. While Shavers has promising talent and a tremendous upside his production for the Crimson Tide was very low .The 6-foot-6  receiver only had one catch for twenty yards, and a special teams touchdown to through 28 games for Alabama.

Shavers struggled to earn playing time for the Crimson Tide due to a loaded depth chart. He has spent time behind first round draft picks Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy, and enters the year behind DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle. Alabama sophomore, John Metchie, has also received praise and looks like he will be the third receiver in the depth chart in 2020.

The former four-star prospect out of Lewisville, Texas chose Alabama over Arizona State, Auburn, Florida State and many other schools, he will likely look for a school where he can make an immediate impact. Shavers graduated from Alabama in December and will be immediately eligible at his new destination.

Zenitz reported on Twitter that Shavers may look to transfer to Baylor.

Even though he won’t be apart of Alabama Football anymore we still wish him the best of luck.
