What Will Miami Bring to Atlanta? David Lake Explains on Off The Edge
Alabama and Miami are set to take the field in Atlanta in a short time. As with any first game, many questions abound, mainly about the opponent of the Tide, the Miami Hurricanes. To gain a better grasp on the team Alabama is facing on the gridiron, Jacob Harrison of Off The Edge called upon David Lake of 247 Sports to enlighten the Tide faithful.
When asked how D'Eriq King could potentially help the Hurricanes upset the Tide, Lake said "I think there's no doubt that he's going to have some success on the ground as a runner...all indications from the month of preseason practices is that his surgically repaired knee is holding up just fine, but doing it in the game is a different hurdle..."
Talking more about King and how he compares to other mobile QBs that Tide has faced up against, Lake elaborated more on his skills. "...I think going into last season there was a question mark in terms of how good a passer is this guy really...he proved to be very very good college-level quarterback as a passer...he can definitely make all the throws necessary and then you know as an athlete he's as dynamic as you get..."
Miami's offensive line will be challenging a very tough Tide defense, and Lake said the Hurricane line will have their hands full. "...Could they be a weakness against Alabama? I could certainly still see that...doing it, [blocking] against Alabama is a whole different deal than doing it against the majority of ACC..."
Off The Edge with Jacob Harrison airs weekdays from 11 a.m. until noon on Tide 100.9, and streams live on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
