The Crimson Tide's baseball season starts next Friday, Feb. 19 at the Joe.

With the season approaching quickly the SEC announced its annual Preseason All-SEC Baseball Team on Thursday, Feb. 11.

Sophomores Connor Prielipp and Owen Diodati will be representing the Tide on the 2021 Preseason All-SEC teams. Prielipp was named the first-team starting pitcher and Diodati a second-team outfielder.

Left-handed pitcher Connor Prielipp came out of the shortened 2020 season pitching 21 innings across four starts. He secured a winning record of 3-0 as a freshman while maintaining a perfect 0.00 ERA. Prielipp also held opposing batters to an SEC-low .077 batting average.

He was selected as a 2021 Preseason First Team All-American by D1Baseball.com, Perfect Game USA and Collegiate Baseball News.

Outfielder Owen Diodati ended the shortened 2020 season with a .309 batting average and a .673 slugging percentage. He led the team in RBIs (22) and was tied for third among all SEC batters. Diodati was also ranked second at Alabama with five home runs just one behind catcher Sam Praytor.
