2022 PGA Champion Justin Thomas Throws Shade at Jimbo Fisher
Former Alabama golfer Justin Thomas won his second PGA Championship over the weekend by completing the third-largest comeback in major history. Thomas battled through his Sunday round to qualify for a playoff against Will Zalatoris, after three close holes Thomas emerged victorious to claim his 15th victory on PGA Tour.
Thomas, a member of the 2013 Alabama national championship team, referenced Nick Saban to SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio after his second major victory and included a shot at rival Jimbo Fisher after the coaches were involved in drama this past week.
"Ya, I got a 24-hour rule. I'm not sure what Jimbo Fisher's rule is. I guess he's got to win something first before he figures out his rules. I'm playing next week so we'll enjoy it but at the same time, you know, we're in the middle of a very, very big stretch of the season so it's great to be able to spend this time with my team but it's back to work," said the Louisville-native.
Thomas has been an ardent supporter of all Crimson Tide athletics in his time after leaving the Capstone. Saban and Fisher found themselves enveloped in controversy last week surrounding philosophies around name, image and likeness. Thomas may have been dialed into the PGA Championship this weekend in Tulsa but he still had time to stay tuned into the college football drama.
